Ohitorisama Review

Title: Ohitorisama
AKA: Miss Alone
Genre: Romance, Comedy
Episodes: 10
Broadcast period: 2009-Oct to 2009-Dec
Theme song: Koe we Kikasete by BIG BANG
Cast: Mizuki Alisa, Koike Teppei and Matsushita Nao.

Akiyama Satomi (Mizuki Alisa) is hardworking and ambitious teacher at a prestigious all girls high school. Not only does she love her job, but she firmly believes that she does not need anyone in order to be happy. Due to her abilities and perfectionism, she is called “Ohitorisama” meaning “Miss Alone” or “Miss One” since she preferred to be alone. This all changes when a new substitute teacher arrives at the school: Kamisaka Shinichi (Koike Teppei), a younger man who used to be a freeter and crashes at his friends apartment.
Kamisaka is less ambitious and pretty clumsy in his way of teaching, irritating the perfectionistic Akiyama sensei, so the principle decides to put her as his mentor. This not only annoys Akiyama, but also makes her have a ‘follower’ so now she can’t be alone anymore.
When she finds out his financial situation she decides to help him by making him stay at her place. Now ‘miss alone’ isn’t alone anymore. Can these two different people cope with one another?

This drama was great all the way through, until I got to episode 8 and it somehow went through a ridiculus slurp and made everything useless, or at least the emotions I had for it. They did try and save it at the climax and really did it so everyone was likeable, but what kind of dumb way is that to end a drama! I am nor going to say why and what, but I was so disappointed. I think yes it has to do with the fact that he is younger and we still are in the 00’s.(If you don’t know what I mean think about the endings of Sapuri and Anego.)  To put simply it becomes a sudden problem that he is younger and less uneducated, so they try to make sure that he is improving, in the last 10min of the drama......
Anyways, the first part is good and interesting, so I would recommend it.
