Galileo 2 Review

Title: Galileo 2
AKA: Galileo Season 2
Genre: Crime, Comedy
Episodes: 11
Broadcast period: 2013-Apr to 2013-Jun
Cast: Fukuyama Masaharu, Yoshitaka Yuriko, Sawabe Yu and Shibasaki Kou.

After being promoted to a post in America Utsumi Kaoru (Shibaksaki Kou) she is told hand her usual cases to newly Teito University graduate Kishitani Misa (Yoshitaka Yuriko), who is a cocky woman believing everyone is inferior to her. That is until she is introduced to the science adviser Yukawa Manabu (Fukuyama Masaharu). Like in season 1 known as Galileo Yukawa is a professor at Teito University and is known to be an eccentric scientist, who gives lectures and proves theories without being asked to do so. The two are put together as a team just like Utsumi and Yukawa were before, to deal with supernatural cases that are impossible to explain.
At first Kishitani refuses to work with him since she doesn’t believe he can and should assist a police matter, but slowly comes to deal with his eccentric personality and his ridiculous ways, even going the way of asking him for assistance herself..

Comparing it with season 1 that I have watched some time ago I liked season two more. I actually found season 1 to be a bit boring, which season 2 does a really good job fixing by giving us a character that is gives the professor a good opposite, challenging even. Though the cases somewhat drag it out a bit, there are cases which makes you kind of intrigued, and makes you want to know about the reasoning. If you aren’t that interested in science it might bore you, but they really do try to make it worth your while by making you guess or giving you hints for either the murderer or how it occurred. This is actually the first time liking Yoshitaka beause of her humoristic side. You can actually watch season 2 without having watched season 1.
To sum up, pretty good.
